Esher & Claygate Car Service

Esher & Claygate Car Service is a volunteer-run organisation that has been providing friendly, reliable transport for more than 40 years to those unable to drive themselves to medical appointments.

We are pleased to say the service is fully functioning again, following periods of closure and limited provision due to the pandemic.

Where appropriate, however, we are applying safety measures to protect both clients and drivers:
- Passengers should feel free to ask their driver to wear a mask, and vice versa.
- We recommend all passengers and drivers wash their hands and/or use hand sanitiser before entering the car.
- Clients might be asked to sit in a rear seat, diagonally away from the driver, and travel with windows slightly open.
- And we ask that if anyone experiences any symptoms of Covid-19 prior to their appointment, they should contact us immediately.

To help us with these measures, Claygate Parish Council has issued the service with a £220 grant as a
contribution towards the cost of providing protective equipment, for which we are most grateful.

We hope this will make everyone confident to use the car service and we look forward to offering our help.

What Our Clients Are Saying

"The Esher & Claygate Car Service is a godsend for getting to the doctors. I think the drivers are delightful, they are all sociable and helpful and we have lovely conversations." Mrs B, Esher

"This is a marvellous service. I’d been driving myself until December 2015 but now I can’t drive any more, so my wife and I use Esher & Claygate Car Service for doctor’s appointments quite frequently." Mr H, Claygate
